July 11, 2020

A 17-year-old surfer has died after he was mauled by a shark in Australia, the second fatal attack in a week and at least the fifth in the country this year. Police said the teenager was surfing at Wooli Beach, around 370 miles north of Sydney in New South Wales when he was attacked, leaving him with severe injuries to his legs. Several surfers tried to help him and managed to get him to shore to receive medical attention, but despite CPR efforts to revive him, he died at the scene.
