Twitter says the hackers responsible for a recent high-profile breach fooled the social media company’s employees into giving them access over the phone.
The company has revealed a few more details about the hack earlier this month, which it said targeted “a small number of employees through a phone spear-phishing attack”.
Three people were charged with the attack in the Northern District of California, which is where Twitter is located. Two teenage boys and one 22 year old man.
The accounts were affected as part of a scam attack where famous accounts asked people to donate to a bitcoin account.
