Starbucks join global brands like Coca-Cola in suspending advertising on some social media platforms in response to hate speech

Over the weekend, we saw global brands including Coca-Cola, Diageo and Unilever remove advertising from social platforms…..and now Starbucks say they will suspend advertising on some social media platforms in response to hate speech.

In a statement they say "We believe in bringing communities together, both in person and online.” and they say they will "have discussions internally and with media partners and civil rights organisations to stop the spread of hate speech".

The decision follows on from Coca-Cola calling for "greater accountability”
