Lena Dunham talks about coronavirus experience

Lena Dunham has detailed her excruciating experience with coronavirus.

The creator of hit comedy-drama Girls said she fell ill with Covid-19 in mid-March, with aching joints the first symptom.

But Dunham, who suffers from a chronic disease that affects the joints and skin, said she was initially unable to distinguish the pain from her existing illness.

The star said the symptoms got slowly more intense as she lost taste and smell, started to cough and became lethargic.

She described the isolation period as intensely lonely.

Dunham said the symptoms remained for a long time.
