Coronavirus: Czechs hold ‘farewell party’ for Covid-19 pandemic as hundreds gather on Prague’s Charles Bridge
Thousands of Czechs gathered in Prague for a special "farewell party" for the coronavirus pandemic. People were invited to dine on a 500-metre long table set on the Charles Bridge where around 2,000 seats were set up. Those who wanted to attend had to reserve a space in advance and were encouraged to bring their own food and drinks. While the World Health Organisation has warned the crisis is far from over, one cafe owner in the capital said a lack of tourists in the city meant residents were able to gather to celebrate the easing of nationwide lockdown restrictions on Tuesday.
