A café that caused controversy after charging a man tax for male customers has insisted that it wasn’t the cause for its closure.

Handsome Her in Melbourne in Australia gained international notoriety for offering women priority seating and charging male customers an 18 per cent premium to “reflect the gender pay gap”.

It has now shut its doors after two years of trading to the delight and dismay of people across the world.

In a statement the owners said that the business was profitable, but it was shutting because they are “young, educated and off on their next adventure”.

Another blow for Prime Minister May after new London poll shows her party facing humiliation

April 30, 2019

The Conservative Party have crashed to fourth place in the polls in London for the forthcoming European elections trailing the new Brexit Party and the Change UK Party.

A shock YouGov poll found the party of Prime Minister Theresa May limping on just 11 per cent in the capital — half of the 22 per cent share they enjoyed in 2014 when they came second.

Embarrassingly, they are six points behind the new, pro-European Change UK, which is on 17 per cent, while another new group the Brexit Party led by Nigel Farage is on 19 per cent.

Mrs May’s party is only one point ahead of two other pro-European groupings, the Liberal Democrats and the Greens, meaning she risks slipping to a humiliating fifth place if the campaign goes badly.

He is hoping that the food and medicine shortages, power cuts and hyperinflation that are affecting the country will push more members of the military to Mr Guaido’s side.

Mr Maduro meanwhile has taken to twitter to say that he has spoken to regional military commanders who expressed their “total loyalty" to his government.

While the June vote is non-binding, if she loses it she will be under huge pressure to step down.
